Clippers vs. Mavericks

Last Wednesday, I went to a basketball game. The Los Angeles Clippers played against the Dallas Mavericks. When the first quarter ended the Clippers were winning 28-23. After the first half the Mavericks were winning 48-46. The Mavericks were winning 75-70 after the third quarter. The final score was Mavericks 106, Clippers 100. How many points did each team score in the third quarter? J.J Barea from the Mavericks scored 22 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, had 6 assists, and took away 2 steals. Blake Griffin from the Clippers scored 25 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, got 3 assists, and took away 3 steals.
Here is a picture of me at the Clippers game:

Have you ever been to a Clippers game?

If so, who did they play?

If not, would you want to see a Clippers game?

Dear Jaden:

I love this post! It was a great game and I think it is very cool that you listed all of the statistics above. My favorite play in the game was the Deandre Jordan dunk. What was yours? I was at the game and have a college degree, so I will let someone else figure out how many points were scored by each team in the 3rd quarter.

@ Dad,

I love this post too! My favorite play was the Blake Griffin dunk. The Deandre Jordan dunk was pretty cool though. It is nice of you to let other people figure out how many points each team scored in the third quarter. Did you like the Blake Griffin dunk?

Dear Jaden,

Yes, I have been to a Clippers game before, and it was against the Lakers. I'm not really sure, but I think that it was last December. I hope to go to another one soon! I was cheering for the Lakers, because that is my favorite team of all times. Otherwise, if Clippers was playing against the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, or Orlando Magic, I would be rooting for Clippers, because I do not like those teams, especially Celtics. The reason I don't like the Celtics is because they were versus the Lakers for the championship.

I think that for Dallas Mavericks, they scored 31 points in the third quarter, and for Los Angeles Clippers, they scored 30 points. Am I correct? I hope I am.

Warmly,

Adia ;)

@ Adia,

It is very fun to see a Clippers game. In my opinion, it is best to see games when both teams are in the same city. I love going to Clippers games!

In my experience, the Lakers are way more popular than the Clippers. Even though the Lakers are way more popular than the Clippers the Clippers are getting a lot more popular because of Blake Griffin.

If the Clippers were playing against the Orlando Magic or the Boston Celtics, I would be rooting for the Clippers. I would be rooting for the Miami Heat if they played against the Clippers. The Celtics are my least favorite team!

Congrats! The Clippers scored 30 points and the Mavericks scored 31 points in the third quarter!

Dear Jaden,

I have gone to a Clippers game.
They were playing against the Timber Wolves.
Baren Davis did an aliyoop to Blake Griffin.
Sadly, now Barren Davis got traded to the Cavles.

@ Grayson,

It is very exciting to go to a Clippers game. I think everyone should get the chance to see them play with Blake Griffin. I am happy that Baron Davis was traded to the Cavs for Mo Williams because it made the Clippers better! Do you like going to Clippers games?

Dear Jaden,

My name is Anthony and I am studying at the University of South Alabama to become a teacher. I read your post about your chipmunk mascot, and you have inspired me to search my house for mascot for my blog! I think I may let my puppy, B.J. be my blog mascot. She is about 35 pounds and tan all over, except for a small patch of white on her chest. She is as playful as an otter at the zoo and as curious as a monkey like Curious George.

I have never been to a Clippers game, but I dure did enjoy reading your post about your experience. Your reporting skills are great! Maybe you should consider a career as a sports announcer!

Thank you for working so hard in class and on your blog. Your efforts really affect future teachers like me and as a result, kids like you!

Sincerely,
Anthony

@ Anthony,

I am very excited that a future teacher commented on my blog. It is wonderful to have a blog mascot. I think that every blog should have a mascot. Is B.J a real dog? I'm not sure if it is possible to be as playful as an otter or as curious as a monkey like in Curious George. ☺

I love going to Clippers games and hope to go to many more in the future. I'm going to try to be an NBA player before trying to be a sports announcer.

Did your teacher assign you to leave a comment on my blog?

Jaden

Hey Jaden! How are you?

I am a student at the University of South Alabama, also. I, too, am studying to be an elementary school teacher. I am really excited to move into my own classroom and have my children start their own blogs. I like that Ms. Yollis has you earn your blog. I might apply this in my career.

You did a wonderful job of reporting the Clippers and Mavericks game. Since I don't live close to any NBA teams, I've never been to any games. However, you really make me want to go to an NBA game, regardless of which team. You gave really thorough details and kept me interested.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Jaden,

My name is Jessica Sanders and I attend the University of South Alabama. I am studying to become a special education teacher. I read your blog post about basketball. I love the game of basketball, and I played shooting guard in high school. I have never attended a professional basketball game, but I would love to attend one in the future. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jaden,

I am a student at University of South Alabama. I am in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class. As part of my assignment, comments4kids, I get to read your blog. I am studying to be an elementary school teacher.

I have never been to a NBA game but I love college basketball. I am a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan. I was really excited when we made it to the final four this year, but was disappointed when we lost. My favorite player of all times was Jeff Sheppard. He was part of the team that won the 1998 National Title. Do you watch college basketball? I think it would be fun to go to a Clippers game. I love basketball. I really liked how you had the scores for the quarters in your post. You really must have paid close attention to the game.

You have done a great job with your blog and I am proud of you for earning it! I think it is such a great thing for young people to be excited about their education. Keep up the great work.

Hey Jaden,
After reading your blog, I see that we have some common ground. We both love basketball. I have never been to a Clippers game but I have been to see the Lakers play four times. I actually got a high five from Kobe Bryant. I also watch Lebron James play when he was a rookie. I have never been to Los Angeles though. I viewed all these games in New Orleans and Atlanta. I would love to see the Clippers play because of Blake Griffin. He can dunk like crazy. Thanks for commenting on our class blog. I don't know if you learned any new words from me, but I'm sure if you heard me talking you would've heard a real southern accent. If you do want to hear that, you can check out my blog at Jude Sanford's blog. I will also be putting a summary of your blog on there in a few days.

Thanks,

My name is Brandin Brosh and I am a student in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama. I am studying to a future teacher and all I can say is WOW! Your blog is quite impressive! I didn't start blogging until recently, but I have really grown to love it.

I really enjoyed reading your post about the Mavericks versus the Clippers. I love watching NBA basketball. Playoffs have just started and I am rooting for the Miami Heat! I love Lebron James. I used to be a Cavs fan until he switched teams. I have never been to a Clipper's game, but when Lebron was still playing for Cleveland, I watched him play in New Orleans versus the Hornets! It was such a blast! I think that the Mavericks scored 27 and the Clippers scored 24 in the third quarter. I hope I am right!

By the way, I love your idea of having a blog mascot! That is so unique. I have commented on many blogs of both teachers and students and no one has ever had a blog mascot! I think if I had to choose a blog mascot, I would choose my dog. Here name is Zaylah. She is about eight pounds and she is black and white. She is a Havanese. You can see her if you visit my blog.. She is on my "About Me" slide show!

My name is John and I attend the University of South Alabama. I have never been to and NBA basketball game but I do watch the games on TV. I would love to see the Clippers play but if they had to play my favorite team “The Boston Celtics” which I personally think they are the best, I would have to go for the Celtics. No questions asked. To answer your question in the post, the Mavericks scored 31 in the third and the Clippers scored 30. I have been to a couple of my college’s basketball games. It was pretty awesome to see the game up close like that. I need to upgrade and go watch the pros. How did you like the game? Was it what you thought it was going to be like? Was this the first NBA game that you have ever been to?

Hello there Jaden! I am an EDM student at the University of South Alabama. I am not a huge basketball fan but must say I enjoyed your post regardless. It sounded like such a good game the way they kind of went back and forth with each other at the beginning! Those are the best! I can sense your passion for the game through your post, which is cool. Unfortunately I have never been to a Clippers game but I believe I would definitely be into it if the opportunity arose! Great post! P.S. Your jersey is awesome!

Hey Jaden!

My name is Rebecca and I am a student at the University of South Alabama in Dr. Stranges EDM 310 class. I have to say I absolutely loved you post about the basketball game, especially how you were able to follow along so well with the score and individual players. Do you play basketball yourself? I played since I was in third grade all the way to high school when we went to the state finals, it was quite amazing!
I have never personally been to a Clippers game, but I have been to other upper level basketball games. And yes I would love to see the Clippers or any major game for that matter!
The picture looks like you were very close in the game. I remember going to a college game, I watched it from far away, but got the opportunity to go court side. When I went court side I was taken back by how HUGE the players were! I am only 5'4'' so each of them had at least a foot on me.

Thanks for your post, I enjoyed it!

Dear Jaden,

My name is Nickolas Sullivan and I am a future educator attending the University of South Alabama. I am one of the students assigned to comment on this blog post from Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. It is very exciting for us to get to peer into the educations of exceptional students such as yourself getting to use technology and blogs in their classrooms.

It sounds like you had a lot of fun watching the game! To answer your question the Mavericks scored 31 points and the clippers only 30 in the final quarter. I love that you posed this question as my focus is math education.

I have never been to a Clippers game nor do I plan on doing so. I am not a big basketball fan because I come from a running family so that's only sport I ever really just watch. I do enjoy playing a variety of sports when I can but I've never been able to get into just watching them. I think it is great you would like to play in the NBA. Remember to practice and you just might but don't forget to study.

Just to answer your question to Anthony. He is one of the very helpful staff members of the EDM 310 lab. They assist us on projects and questions we have about the class. This is a very fun class to be in because we get to do things like these comments as homework. Keep up the fantastic work and I am sure you will go far in life.

Dear Jaden,
Hello, my name is Jordan and I am a student at the University of South Alabama. The class that I am in right now is named EDM 310, and it is taught by Dr. Strange. Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I have three kids, a son that is eleven, and in fifth grade, and twin daughters that are nine, and in third grade just like you. I think that your blog is awesome, and very well done, maybe you can help me make my blog as cool as your's is.
Now, to answer your questions that you gave me. It has been a long time since I have had a math class, but I think that the Mavs scored 27 points, while the Clippers scored 24 points in the third quarter. If you would let me know if that is right, I would really appreciate it. Also, I have been to a game that the Clippers played in, it was against the Hawks way back in 1989, when I lived in Atlanta. I would like to go to more NBA games but there aren't any franchises close to where I live.
Okay, before I go I have a math AND history question for you. Who was the only NBA player to score 100 points in a single game, and how many pints did he average per quarter to reach that mark? when you have an answer let me know on my blog at http://sellersjordanedm310.blogspot.com/ while you're there maybe you can give me some pointers to make my blog better.
Your Friend,
Jordan
